We believe in art and design. I believe in the ability of these two to open the heart and thoughts, to give inspiration and hope, to put some air into the body. When it comes to Israeli art, we are even more excited. Getting to know and supporting Israeli artists and young designers is a way of life, which has been with us for over 30 years, it is an ideology and a tradition left behind by the late Daniela Lehavi.
We are happy to host in the Ramat Aviv store, in an invite-only event, the works of Talia Loubton: industrial designer, goldsmith and leather craftsman.
Loubton has exhibited in renowned art exhibitions in Israel and around the world, and is considered a groundbreaking talent in her field. Her creative process includes an in-depth investigation of contrasting versus complementary qualities of raw materials and techniques. With a focus on craftsmanship and great respect for authentic traditional knowledge, Louboutin seamlessly combines advanced technology, creative thinking and a contemporary perspective. Her works stand out for their attention to detail, a careful combination of technological innovations and a commitment to achieving high aesthetic standards.
During the day of the event, it will be possible to meet and talk with the artist, and even purchase her unique works. Loubton's works are handmade, available in limited stock, and are defined as "one pieces": each urn or vessel is different and unique in its color and shape. We strongly recommend arriving on the day of the event in order to get an impression of the complete inventory. (A word from us: we've covered the holiday table design for you, in style)

The story of leather as a historical raw material
A timeless symbol of craftsmanship and innovation
Leather, an ancient and versatile material, has a necessary role in shaping our world as we know it. Leather has a rich and fascinating history stretching back to prehistoric times. It is a material that has been used for everything, and has proven to be an essential tool in almost every aspect of life. The story of leather is a testament to human ingenuity and resourcefulness, showing the vast variety of products that can be made from it.
As early as 1300 BC, primitive communities began to recognize the benefits of using animal skins beyond the byproducts of food. They made leather goods for clothing and shelter, using traditional techniques to soften and preserve the hides. This trend continued to evolve over time as early cultures developed their own methods of tanning and preserving leather. This led to a plethora of leatherworking techniques and styles appearing around the world.
Skin can be fashioned into anything from delicate parchment to hard and impenetrable armor. The unique adaptability and durability of leather continues to make it a timeless and iconic symbol of craftsmanship innovation combined with contemporary fashion and style.
The craft of tannery
A tradition of leather processing that lasts for generations
The art of tannery is a timeless craft that has been practiced for more than 7,000 years.
The craft turns animal skins into a durable and flexible material that can be used for a wide variety of applications. This complex process requires a great deal of care and attention, as well as expertise and skill. Over the generations, traditional tanners have inherited methods and techniques that have given this craft a rich history and cultural significance around the world.
Leather processing using plants is the most traditional and well-known method that includes the use of natural plant materials to preserve animal skins.
At the end of the processing process, a skin with a natural touch and feel is obtained, which continues to react and change according to the conditions of the environment in which it is found. Each sheet of leather is unique in its own way, with long-lasting quality and the ability to age gracefully.
Today, tanneries continue to honor the ancient craft of tanning by using natural tannins derived from trees and plants. The beauty of the skin lies in its ability to be shaped into various objects that touch our lives in significant ways, while emphasizing the unique characteristics of the skin.
Wet Forming technique
Skin design for 3D shapes
The craft of shaping the leather into complex three-dimensional shapes is done using the Wet Forming technique, which is based on the craft of cobblers.
The technique is exclusive to vegetable processed leather, which emphasizes the unique ability of the leather to produce a stable three-dimensional volume. The process includes immersing the skin in water to soften it, and stretching it over a rigid volumetric mold. After drying, the leather maintains its new structural shape, while maintaining a sophisticated and refined appearance.
The Wet Forming technique is a testament to the ingenuity of children throughout history, and its results continue to be awe-inspiring.
Sustainable leather
Source, production and biodegradability
Sustainable leather is gaining ground as an environmentally conscious choice in the fashion and design industries. It includes various work methods aimed at reducing the negative impact of leather production on the environment.
Sustainable leather production involves several crucial aspects. First, the origin of leather is a byproduct of the meat and dairy industries. Second, sustainable leather production is based on a plant-based processing process, and significantly reduces the use of harmful chemicals, toxins and excess water, thereby protecting both human health and the ecosystem. Finally, the organic composition of the leather allows it to decompose naturally in a reasonable period of time, without external intervention, which emphasizes its environmentally friendly nature.
Sustainable leather is not just a material, it is a breathable and changing material that reacts to environmental conditions such as humidity and sunlight, and displays its intriguing properties that prove the wisdom of nature.
By appreciating the qualities that exist in sustainable leather, we can move away from the negative perceptions perpetuated by the fast fashion industry and adopt a more sustainable and responsible approach to the use of this unique material in the fashion and design industry.

Urns as an expression of strength and beauty
The leather is used as a showcase for the qualities and potential of the material. The jugs are a multi-purpose canvas, which allows you to emphasize the strength against the delicacy of the skin. The inherent strength and beauty of leather is harmoniously brought to the fore through these designs.
